This presentation introduces attendees to the Brainspotting protocol, developed by Dr. David Grand. Utilizing a combination of lecture, demonstration and small group practice we will explore the neuroscience behind BrainspottingTM, identify, illustrate and practice the core elements of the protocol, and discuss how BrainspottingTM can be utilized to facilitate the treatment of trauma, performance anxiety and other issues. Teaching Objectives: - Attendees will be able to list 2 ways in which neuroscience helps us understand the mechanisms that make BrainspottingTM experiential and effective. - Attendees will be able to differentiate between internal and external window and be able demonstrate techniques associated with both. - Attendees will be able to demonstrate how work with the X, and Y axis and be able to speak about why this important.
