This lecture will discuss reification in prostitution. Both in the language used to justify prostitution, where the ”sex” is constructed as something separate from the ”body”, and the ”body” as something separae from the Self. But also, in the defence mechanisms used by the victims of prostitution, who use a number of defences in order to keep the Being separate from the Bought.< /br > Among them are keeping time limits, changing one's name, mind-body dissociation and others. These techniques are universal. Yet they have direct consequences for the victims of prostitution.
