Somatic Experiencing is the foremost psychotherapeutic method in the world today to speak directly with the autonomic nervous system. We human beings share the autonomic language of relating to the world and our experience with all animals, and perhaps with all living creatures. However, each individual human being is permeated and regulated by a complex stream of personal and cultural history. Using case examples, Marianne will outline the interplay of biology, biography and culture, to inspire us to discover useful interventions as well as the strengths and weaknesses of our personal perspectives.
