Leading with Integrity and Authority

The presentation explores the different sources of authority and argues that authority in itself is not enough for good leadership.
Research finding and practical examples illustrate that leaders who intend to lead with integrity and authority need to be open minded and committed to personal development and growth.
Great leaders quite naturally make the connection between their external and internal worlds and relate to the environment in a humble and responsible manner expressing their concerns for the common good as something deeply personal. Internalising the concerns of the community enables them to create a bond with others. This bond is a strong source of authority. Both the wisdom traditions and the latest findings in neuro-science emphasise the importance of deepening self knowledge, clarifying purpose and values. Developing resilience, courage and an inner knowing of one's truth is necessary if we want to lead with integrity and true authority.
