Every dentist can report: After a dental treatment, patients tend to open heir hearts and to tell about private things that have no connection to the dentistry. Also every day the dentists have to deal with patients in severe emotional situations, like pain, anxiety, gagging reflex, fear of dying from suffocation. Even though they have no education in psychosomatics or psychotherapy, they find a way to deal with this challenge. The hypnodontist knows how to observe, about pacing and leading, about mirroring and body language, he has the tools to help his patients to not only survive the treatment but to experience it as a good, relaxed and healthy experience. We have many dentists in Europe trained in hypnosis; it seems that both parts of the game benefit from the use of hypnosis: The dentist has less stress, more compliance; more fun with his work, the patient is without stress, relaxed and thankful for a good experience.
